This is a series of essays written for the various American universities I am applying to. Most of them are of the introspective/reflective type. American universities love this type of nonsense as it allows them to evaluate you from a different aspect. They love that I-made-a-mistake-but-I-have-turned-over-a-new-leaf or I-am-a-changed-person-after-that-incident and stuff like that. Personally, I think it is a load of bullshit because anyone can just make this stuff up - it's just too easy. Not that I made these up. I really feel what I wrote in my essays but still, the possibilty always exists.......

The following article was written for the school magazine on the request of a GP teacher. I will give you a synopsis of the article so that you will be better able to understand it. The article is a very bold and frank "lecture" telling people to wake up and get on with their lives. The problem is that a lot of Singaporean students get disillusioned with the "system" (the educational system which is very rigorous, rigid and tiring) and thus blame it for the miseries in their lives. I was able to write the article because I had been through the same stage when I was in J1. Although it is in the Singaporean context, I am sure the idea is universal.

*Note: for those who do read the article, PAP stands for People's Action Party, one of the local political parties

Project Alpha is basically a transcript of my ICQ conversations with a classmate of mine with whom I had the most interesting time online with. It was inspired by a -cybernovel- CHAT by Nan McCarthy.
